Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
I can only think of a handful of times where I have set a snack down in front of our kids and they’ve devoured the entire thing before I even have a chance to offer them something to drink.
This was one such occasion.
I have to admit, as far as “healthy” snacks go, this Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips takes the cake. It’s pretty easy to throw together, so if you’ve got 15 minutes laying around and some ravenous kids (or adults) around your house, you can find the recipe after the jump.
The Home Stretch
So, I realize that I am three weeks late posting this (currently 33W2D) but I’m not exactly the most organized person these days.
Have you watched Modern Family recently? I’m Gloria. Except without the size 0 pregnancy waist and the irritatingly cute Columbian accent. I leave my phone in the freezer, leave the fridge door wide open and have dumped a perfectly good plate of food in the garbage while putting the actual garbage in the kitchen sink. I’ve taken a shower, gotten dressed and only then realized that I shaved only one armpit. I have switched the lunches for my husband and daughter and mix up my sentences.
All of this to say, we are finally in the home stretch. I am now in the single digits as far as the weekly countdown and I can remember when we were only single digits pregnant! My abdomen has been taken over by this giant watermelon that moves incessantly and has actually bruised the spot under my left rib internally (ouch).
As my sleep patterns become more and more erratic and as sleep becomes less achievable overall, I find myself keeping busy with projects at home as well as my photography gig but also worrying.
You’d think that after two kids, the third would be a breeze but admittedly, I am not all that great with change.
Yes, I understand that this is a good change but all the same, it is still a big change. Our baby will no longer be the baby and our oldest has suddenly taken an interest in doing the laundry and learning how to change diapers. When did they both get so big? Why do they need to grow up so fast?
Asking these questions out loud will serve no better purpose then to leave me in a puddle of my own tears, which my husband will pull me out of before he tucks me into bed, so I don’t ask them.
Instead, I just smile and enjoy what we have right now and capture all of these moments the best way that I know how.
In a photograph.

Ya’ll might get sick of all the cookie posts that are going to happen this week. I’ve broken up my Christmas baking between three days this week in order to accomodate sending three batches of cookies in with my wonderful husband for him to feed to his staff.
Suffice it to say that my poor husband had to actually leave the house today (ok, he went out to the hot tub) because the smell was driving him insane and I wouldn’t let him lay so much as a finger on one of these glorious morsels of chocolate decadence.

I could probably spend hours perusing around Pinterest downloading free printables.
Christmas, Easter, you name it, there’s a printable somewhere for it. This year, my holiday gift tags for presents, labels for cookie exchanges and even some Christmas cards have come from Pinterest. It’s like all of a sudden I’ve become some kind of insanely crafty person.

Today, our youngest gave me five options of things to bake.
Yes, she gives me options. In her spare time, she also bosses around her Barbies.
Her options, in case you’re curious were a strawberry-apple-lime-banana cake, oatmeal cookie, raisin oatmeal cookie, oats (don’t ask) and cheesecake.
Somehow, I managed to twist her rubber arm into letting me bake some cookies.
